Developing Awards Programme:

Development Awards are aimed at young people who have limited opportunity to enhance their life skills. The programme offers young people small-scale financial support in order to overcome barriers to access education, training and employment opportunities. Help is available in the form of financial assistance, sign posting to other programmes and provision of support, through a volunteer Development Award Assessor. These awards provide £50 - £500 to disadvantaged 14 - 25 year olds. No Limits Grants No Limits Grants are similar to Development Awards and are specifically targeted toward young people aged between 14 and 25 who have a disability.

The Grant is designed to assist the young person overcome particular obstacles to the achievement of personal, educational and vocational goals.

Soundlive:

If you are passionate about music, unemployed, not in full-time education and aged between 18 and 25 you can apply to take part in a weeklong course based around music. The course aims to develop the personal and musical skills of young people through the use of popular music.

European Programme (Go Grants):

Are you 18-25? Do you want to take part in voluntary work or visit a project in another country to gain skills or ideas? If you are long-term unemployed and not in full-time education you are eligible to apply.

Leaving Care Initiative:

If you are 16, in care or about to leave care and need assistance as you move out into the community, we can provide access to opportunities through mentors, to employment, education, training and development. The initiative is currently being piloted in the Down and Lisburn Trust area.

Millennium World Youth Awards:

Are you aged 17-25? Would you like the opportunity to work with young people from a developing country for 6 months? (3 months in the UK and 3 months overseas). Funded by The Millennium Commission, in partnership with VSO, these awards enable you to visit a project to gain skills or ideas.

Study Support:

Study Support is mainly a voluntary activity outside school hours, which aims to increase confidence, motivation and achievement levels of young people. The Trust is currently establishing a network of Study Support Groups in order to support and develop good practice in Northern Ireland.
