You Can Help:

The Prince's Trust Northern Ireland invests £2.5 million each year helping young people to succeed. Your donations are our lifeblood and keep us independent.

Help young people start up in business. We help young entrepreneurs who cannot get finance anywhere else to become self-employed, most are unemployed. We aim to support 200 young people into business each year. Make it your business to help young people start theirs.

For some young people, self-employment can be the only viable alternative to unemployment or hardship. However, lack of finance prevents many from turning their business dreams into reality. The Prince's Trust offers soft loans, Business Mentors and ongoing advice and sales opportunities to help the business survive.

Since 1983, over 2,000 young people have started their own businesses in Northern Ireland with our support. We have set ourselves a target of helping a further 200 each year. With an average start up cost of £3,000 we need to raise £600,000 each year. Our track record has led the Government to pledge matched funds towards the money we need, but we can only draw on these matched funds once we have secured your support.

The Prince's Trust offers companies the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of young people. We offer a variety of ways to be involved and are very happy to discuss these opportunities with you.

Help young people improve their skills, confidence and employability through team work in their community, by helping fund our 'Volunteers' personal development course.

Help fund our range of smaller, innovative programmes targeting young people aged between 14 -30 who need us most.

Innovative Programmes:

Education:

We need funding to help us to develop and continue our work addressing truancy and school exclusion among 14 - 16 year olds. Our network of clubs in schools and youth clubs also offer training in life skills and preparation for work.

Development Awards:

Help us offer advice and grants to enable young people to take the first step towards work, self-employment, or training.

Europe:

Help us give young people aged 18 - 25 the opportunity to experience life and work in another European country.

Music:

Our five-day residential music course, Soundlive, offers opportunities for training and personal development through music. We need help to meet the cost of each course.
